I came across the latest Kanye West music videos and I must say that they’re uber cool. Very unique indeed. The concepts of both videos are distinct in their own way. Looks like Kanye wins again when it comes to the creative aspect of their music videos. Check them out:
Stronger - Kanye West
Japanese-themed. Really cool mash-ups of different clips near the end.
Good Life - Kanye West feat. T-Pain
Very playful with the colors and the words. Pop art is back and it’s even better! Watch and be amazed. Ayy!
A-yo Technology - 50 Cent feat. J. Timberlake and Timbaland
Nice song but the video just reminds me of Timberlake’s Sexy Back. A few movie references. Nothing special.
Mitch Joel recently posted an entry on the “10 Most Influential Bloggers on Public Speaking“. This is an interest to me because as much as I love presenting in front of an audience (which I used to used to dread by the way), I just can’t get the speech part right. A lot of time is spent on preparing the slides but when it comes to delivery I stutter or I uhm… get my words all mixed up. It gets frustrating sometimes. Since I was a kid, I always spoke too fast and people won’t understand what came out of my mouth. I slowly learned how to pace myself and enunciate better yet I still mess up most of the time.
I’ll go through Mitch’s list and see how I can improve my public speaking skills from there. It’s nice to see Garr Reynolds at the number one spot. I visit his site, Presentation Zen, perpetually to read his latest tips on effective slide design. He’ll be publishing his own book soon so watch out for that.
If I can learn how to design slides that help communicate ideas effectively, I MUST also learn how to deliver those ideas to make them stick.
I just found one of the most useful Firefox plug-ins: Diigo. It let’s you highlight text from websites plus add your own “sticky notes” just in case you need to jot down some notes alongside the text. Here comes to cool part - you get to save all these highlights and then bookmark the pages (all saved on their server once you register with them). You can then refer back to all the sites later on, easily spotting the lines you chose to highlight. There are other features such as sharing the sites with others. Also, you could choose to use the Diigolet (a simple, light-weight version) or install the Diigo tool bar which has a bit more to offer. Now, I can start reading about the pros of genetically modified trees, highlight the important text, and just pop those sites back up for my meeting on Wednesday. Awesome!
I wished I found this add-on a long time ago. It’s a student’s best friend when it comes to researching for projects and papers.
Hello Blogging World!
This is probably my 5th time trying to start and write a blog. I hope it works out this time around. If ever I’m out of things to write, I can always pick one up from here: 100 Blog Topics I Hope YOU Write by Chris Brogan.
